Procedures For Adopting A Child From Poland
We help you in the process of one-on-one private adoptions. You do not get involved with an agency. You meet the woman, come to agreement and move forward through the adoption legal process.
You must come to Poland. For that you will be required to meet the visa requirements. If you are an American citizen, you can come to Poland for a 90 day stay without a formal visa. All that you have to do is present your passport at border control and you will be admitted.
In all cases, you are advised to have your passport and visa requirments completed immediately so that you can plan travel.
For the most part, you will travel to Warsaw, Poland. More information is the page Travel And Meetings.
You will be introduced one or more women. The women will want to assure herself that the child is geting a good home and you will want to assure yourself about the child. A translator/assitant will be with you to help and guide you through the process. You will also be provided a checklist and guidance on what information you should get.
Remember, this is a private process. There will be no social workers or state agencies involved. It will be between you and the woman. But with our assitance.
The woman will have been previously been given and will be familiar with a typical contract to be signed with you. You will also have a copy of a typical contract provided to you at the time you go on the waiting list.
Once you have agreement with the woman a Polish lawyer will move the process through the Polish legal system.
He will then be a matter of working with your country's embassy to have the child properly documented so that you may have it return to your home country.
